Hello DRAUMA! We thought that it would be cool to post a few things that we tell all of our friends who will be attending for the first time.

1. First and foremost. Absolutely NO CAMERAS! I can’t stress this one enough. If possible, simply unplug. Leave your phone at home, in the car, or in your coat at coat-check. DRAUMA is a very unique and special event that affords us all the rare opportunity to be just a little more wild than we usually are. Privacy and discretion are golden!

2. Come dressed to express! DRAUMA veterans spend months and months creating spectacular outfits. Even if you don’t have that amount of time or interest, at the very least do something. But have fun and make sure you feel amazing when you show up!

3. Arrive early. We have over 300 performers and creative geniuses every night and the shows and experiences start immediately. If you arrive later than 11pm, it is almost certain that you will spend a fair amount of time waiting in line to enter the venue, especially on Saturday!

4. Enjoy. Do what seems fun and interesting to you. Nobody will expect you to participate in any way that you do not want to. If you want to watch, do it. If you want to play, ask permission and join in. If you just aren’t into it, move on. There is sooooo much to do all night long that you are able to chill or flow to your heart’s content.

5. Thank a volunteer or a performer. DRAUMA donates money to charity every year and it is possible because of the amazing collection of artists, musicians, volunteers….

6. Come on Thursday. Thursday is the least crowded of the three days and will allow you time and space to really dig deep into the event. It is also the night of choice for long-time DRAUMA enthusiasts. And best of all…. If you love it, you still have two more nights that you can attend!!

7. Last tip. Leave your comfort zone. People fly to Columbus from all over the country to dance, play, create, and explore at DRAUMA. Meet some new people. Dance. Get tied up or spanked for the first time. Make it your goal to try something new. You will very likely be surprised, entertained, and excited by the experience.
